Text Content
Your text content is the heart of your website in context of SEO. Your home page should introduce the main subject matter, while each section should give more details on a specific topic. It is advisable to identify the keywords which your potential clients are likely to search for. Focus on these search terms by highlighting them in bold or use them as H1 tags. This makes it easier for search engines spiders to crawl the your content and easily index it.
Frames
Though search engines claim that they can navigate frames, it is best to avoid frames completely. This will help your Internet Marketing. Though framed websites are listed in the search engines, they are never given a higher ranking than non framed websites. So if you have frames based website, it is advisable to rebuild it without frames. Your rankings are guaranteed to sky rocket.
Page Forwarding
Many sites are now using page forwarding to determine the browser of the users, to see if they are using Flash and so on. After testing the visitors’ machine, users are then forwarded to your home page. This does not help the search engine rankings. Besides by forwarding past the home page content you are missing out an important chance to introduce good keyword rich text matter to your clients.
Heavy Graphics
It is advisable not to crowd your website with too many graphics. Though graphics are visible to search engine spiders, they won’t read the text embedded in the graphics. Hence it is recommended not to embed valuable text in your graphics. Where you do use graphics, make sure to add alt-tags to describe the image, including key words and search terms where applicable. Such things can help you surely to advance your Home Based Business Idea
Dynamic Pages
Through dynamic websites, you can update the content easily. But the problem is that if your website contains dynamic pages, it won’t be indexed by the search engines. Search engines will visit a web page in any format viz. .Asp, .Php, .Cfm etc. If the URL for the page ends with the extension such as /pagename.php it will be indexed and added to the search engine. If, however dynamic information is passed within the URL e.g. pagename.php?section=2&user=xyz, then the page will not be indexed.
Flash
Do not build your website entirely in flash. If you do, it is recommended to build an alternative site in HTML. Otherwise you will not receive any listing as search engines cannot read flash files. However, optimum use of flash within a website is recommended. Animation and moving logos go a long way in retaining your clients’ interest in the website. The use of Flash within a web site is acceptable, provided its use is monitored.
Navigation
Search engines usually start navigation at the home page and follow all the links within the site until they reach a dead end before jumping to the next site on their list. Make sure that search engine spiders can reach as much of your site as possible before jumping to the next site. Besides, if you provide links to other pages within the site, it will help the spider move around more quickly and efficiently.
